Privacy Policy

Pictimate provides the instant-estimate and photo-preview tool you used on a contractor's page. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what happens to it.

Who is responsible for your information

When you request an estimate, you are contacting the contractor whose page you were on. That business decides how your enquiry is used and is responsible for it. Pictimate processes the information on their behalf, as their service provider.

If you want your information corrected or deleted, you can contact either the contractor or us — see below.

What we collect

• What you type: your name, phone number or email, and any message you add.
• Photos you upload of the space you want quoted, and the AI-generated previews made from them.
• Your project details: the space, size, condition answers and finishes you selected, and the estimate produced.
• How you arrived: the web address that referred you and any campaign tags in the link (for example utm_source), so the contractor knows which of their ads is working.
• Technical data: your IP address, used to apply usage limits and prevent abuse.

We do not use tracking cookies and we do not follow you across other websites. Campaign details are held in your browser's session storage and are discarded when you close the tab unless you submit the form.

Why we use it

• To produce your estimate and generate the preview images you asked for.
• To pass your enquiry to the contractor so they can contact you about your project.
• To email you the preview or video if you request it.
• To keep the service working and to prevent abuse.

We do not sell your information, and we do not use it to advertise to you.

Who else sees it

Only the contractor you contacted, plus the service providers we rely on to run the platform — hosting and file storage, our database, email delivery, and the AI service that creates your preview images. They are permitted to use your information only to provide those services to us, and never for their own purposes. A current list of our providers is available on request.

Your photo is sent to the image-generation service solely to create the preview you asked for.

Where it is processed

Our providers operate in Canada and the United States, so your information may be stored or processed outside Canada and, while there, may be accessible under the laws of that country.

How long we keep it

Your enquiry, photos and previews are kept for as long as the contractor keeps the lead. When they delete it, the photos, previews and video are permanently deleted with it. Usage counters used for limits are removed after 30 days.

Your choices

Under Canadian privacy law you can ask what we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted. Email hello@pictimate.com and we will action it, and pass the request to the contractor where it concerns their records. You can also reply to any email you receive from us to stop further messages.

Children

This service is for adults arranging work on a property and is not directed at children.

Changes

If this policy changes we will update the date at the top. Material changes will be reflected on the contractor pages that link here.
